Bio
I was raised in Kelowna and spent my university years in Vancouver. Both of these amazing cities have shaped me into an active person who values whole body learning. Having grown up enjoying everything from Okanagan camping in the summer to Big White snowboarding in the winter, I am so grateful to live in place that accommodates such great adventures. My active sports background has played a big role in my teaching philosophy and has helped shape the style of learning the kindergarteners in my class will explore.
I believe a kindergarten experience should be full of purposeful, engaging lessons that allow students to use literacy, numeracy and science in meaningful ways. My teaching is also strongly rooted in social-emotional discoveries. Everyday my kindergarten students will be building upon the skills necessary to respect each other, to be part of a community and to value collaboration.
When I'm not teaching Kindergarten, I am busy coaching CrossFit, teaching group fitness or painting away!
